Car Park Construction

Due to increasing timescales on a power station outage, manpower was required to be increased, thus causing a great increase of vehicles on site. Due to the lack of car parking facilities JM CONTRACTING LTD was asked to provide an efficient, cost effective service to house the additional vehicles. The overflow car park that we constructed provided housing for up to 150 extra vehicles.

Starting with the waste ground JM CONTRACTING LTD undertook all initial ground works, clearing site and providing a level surface for works to take place. We firstly installed a polythene membrane, this was put in place to stop any oil/fuel spillages from vehicles travelling into the water systems, and the membrane enabled the drainage system to be processed through an oil separator before being introduced back into the top water system. Then 100mm of soft material was placed on top of the membrane, to prevent puncture. Once the membrane was protected we placed 400mm of crushed, recycled building material to create the level formation of the car park, this was then topped with 100mm of recycled tarmac planings to create a quality surface that would resist wear and tear.

All works were carried out with efficiency to deal with the over demand for car parking facilities.
